South Australian Local Hero 2009

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Beverley Langley of Cherry Gardens who has recently been named the 2009 South Australian Local Hero.

Part of the Australian of the Year Awards, this programme acknowledges contributions individuals make to their communities and has honoured Beverley for her commitment to animal welfare.

Beverley runs a voluntary animal rescue service and has dedicated her spare time to promoting the understanding and respect of our wildlife. Individuals like Beverley personify what is good about this country and I pay tribute to her for her outstanding efforts.
